Alex Bond is a West Australian photographer who works predominantly with the landscape in large format. His black and white silver gelatin exhibition prints are hand crafted in a "wet" darkroom using traditional photographic techniques. Since 1989 he has published postcards of national parks under the imprint of Stormlight Publishing, along with greeting cards, posters and calendars, receiving numerous awards for excellence in print. Continuing the landscape theme, his recent book Pemberton Wine Region Western Australia combines the use of both conventional film and digital cameras. Pemberton Wine Region has been awarded Best Wine Photography Book in Australia and Best New World Wine Book in Australia as part of the international, 2009 Gourmand Awards. The book now qualifies to represent Australia in the Best in the World Awards to be announced in Paris, February, 2010.
